Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use ChU, an app operated by McLane Ventures LLC, a Florida limited liability company. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

What ChU is

ChU displays dining hall menu, nutrition, and allergen information published by universities and their dining providers, calculates daily calorie and macro targets from figures you provide, suggests meals from what your dining halls are serving, and lets you log what you eat.

About the data we show

Menu items, calories, macronutrients, and allergen flags come from your school's own published dining information. We pass that data through; we don't create it or independently verify it.

This means coverage is uneven. Some items have complete nutrition and allergen data, some have partial data, and some have none. ChU marks items that carry no allergen information, but the absence of an allergen flag does not mean the allergen is absent. If you have a serious allergy or intolerance, confirm with dining staff before eating. Do not rely on ChU alone.

Where the app produces an estimate, for example from a photo you submit, that estimate is an approximation produced by an automated system, and it can be wrong.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Give us accurate information when you sign up. You must be at least 13 years old to use ChU, and if you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

Subscriptions and billing

ChU offers auto-renewing subscriptions. Current pricing is shown in the app before you purchase.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the rate then in effect.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.
• Cancelling stops future renewals. The current period continues to its end date.

Purchases are handled by Apple. Refunds are governed by Apple's policies, and we generally can't issue them directly, so request one through Apple's support site.

Acceptable use

Don't use ChU to break the law, interfere with the service, attempt to access other users' accounts or data, scrape or resell the content, or reverse-engineer the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.

Ownership

The app, its design, and its software belong to McLane Ventures LLC. Menu and nutrition data belongs to the universities and dining providers that publish it. Content you create, your meal logs and preferences, belongs to you.

Availability

We aim to keep ChU running but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Menus depend on third-party systems we don't control, and those systems change, break, and go offline. We may modify or discontinue features.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

ChU is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, McLane Ventures LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Termination

You can stop using ChU at any time. To delete your account and its data, email us from the address on your account and we'll take care of it. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use ChU after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
